Following the Thames Path flood alerts issued towards the end of last week, water levels still remain high. This is despite the cold and dry weather over the weekend.
Bear in mind that it takes 3-4 days for water to travel from the Cotswold Hills down to the source. There is therefore always a time lag between heavy rain and the water levels peaking.
The following Thames Path flood alerts are still in place according to the Environment Agency:
- Calcutt to Lechlade
- Buscot Wick to Kings Lock
- Oxford
- Abingdon
- Dorchester to Pangbourne
- Pangbourne to Purley
- Purley to Sonning
- Twyford
- Shiplake
- Henley
- Hurley to Cookham
- Datchet
- Shepperton to Moseley
- Ditton Island
The risk of tidal flooding around Putney and Teddington seems to have fallen.
The forecast is for further dry weather over the next few days. The levels are therefore likely to recede through the week.
As always, take care whilst you Walk The Thames.
