Thames Barrier test closure set for October 4

Each year, the Thames Barrier is fully tested. During the test, the flood gates will rotate into the fully closed defence position to stop the high tide going upstream into London. This has been scheduled this year for 4 October. What a day to complete walking the Thames Path!
