The frequency of flood alerts in the area may be reducing as you can see on our Thames Path Status page. However water levels and the flow rate remain particularly high resulting in much flooding on the Thames Path.
The picture above was taken yesterday in Old Windsor where the tow path submerges below water. It is impassable without waders. Be prepared to work (and walk!) around these black spots. It can be frustrating.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for heavy rains over the weekend. More rain falling on saturated ground will undoubtedly cause more problems. We would expect to see the water levels rising again, probably peaking around Tuesday next week.
So, as we head in to March, and the number of walkers starts to increase, conditions underfoot will not be good. There will still be much flooding on the Thames Path.
Stay safe whilst you Walk the Thames.
