Flooding on the Thames Path: Update

Large parts of the Thames Path are underwater as the Thames has burst its banks in multiple locations.

The picture above was taken at lunchtime today at Pangbourne looking downstream. The path runs along by the benches!

Although there has been further heavy rain today, the Environment Agency have started to lift flood warnings and alerts in the upper reaches. It is therefore likely that the heavy rains from Storm Dennis have worked their way down the Thames and that water levels will start to recede.

Keep an eye on our weather forecast and do not attempt to walk through floodwaters. You can also see our Thames Path status page which shows flood warnings and alerts along the Thames Path. It’s best to leave the Thames Path to recover until next week.
