ReadingFest is definitely one for the youngsters. The line-up has recently been announced and headliners includes Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Rage Against The Machine.
There will be diversions in place at night as the Thames Path goes right pas the Festival grounds as you approach Reading.
Chelsea Fringe Festival 16-24 May 2020
If you’re put off by the crowds and cost of the Chelsea Flower Show, the Chelsea Fringe Festival is held at the same time. It features a wonderful mixture of public spectacles, horticultural happenings and community celebrations in and around the Chelsea area.
Entirely independent of the Chelsea Flower Show, the Fringe’s events encompass everything from grassroots community garden projects to avant-garde art installations. An open-access principle means that just about anything goes – as long as it’s interesting and legal, and on the subject of gardens, flowers, veg-growing or landscape.
Royal International Air Tattoo Fairford 16-19 July 2020
https://www.airtattoo.com/The Fairford Airshow, which takes place close to the upper reaches of the Thames, has recently announced its two themes for 2020:
Fast Jet Combat Air Power will showcase today’s elite aviators. On the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the spotlight will fall on this historic aerial conflict and the bravery of those early aviators who flew and fought during the campaign.
The second theme is Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) which explores the capability to elevate ourselves over the battlefield to obtain a “bird’s-eye view” from hot-air balloons unmanned platforms.
The organisers have announced they are hopeful of showing the UK F-35B Lightning and the new RAF P-8A Poseidon.
