There are Thames Path weather warnings currently in place.
The Met Office have issued yellow warnings wind and amber warnings for rain for the areas along the Thames Path this weekend.
This is a result of Storm Dennis which is “likely to bring very heavy rain, flooding and disruption to travel over the weekend”.
They go on to say that we can expect:
- Homes and businesses are likely to be flooded
- Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life
- Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely
- Spray and flooding is probable leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- A good chance some communities will be cut off
- Power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses is likely
The storms are expected to start this evening (Friday) lasting until Sunday afternoon. The storm appears to be hitting all of England and Wales as well as southern Scotland.
The Environment Agency has updated its list of flood alerts and warnings. The alerts include:
- River Loddon confluence with Thames at Shiplake
- Hampton to Teddington
- Trowlock Island
- Teddington to Putney
There are currently no warnings in place on the Thames
