Trek Assistant

We are looking for a Trek Assistant to join our small team who, ideally, has a passion for walking and can empathise with our customers/walkers. Being local, the candidate will have knowledge of the areas our customers will pass through. The role requires working in a family home with a dog.

Key responsibilities include working with our customers/walkers in preparing itineraries, booking hotels, and preparing packs for customers.

Aside from basic office skills, applicants should have knowledge of the local area and be able to read a map.

The job is on a fixed term contract to last through to the end of September.

London-based Drivers:

We are looking for London-based walking enthusiasts with a car who would like to earn a little extra cash. We need occasional drivers to pick up and drop off bags within the London area (Hampton Court to Woolwich). In 2024 we were active in the London area on around 50 days between April and October. Most of these days involved one party, with the most being three.

Occasionally we get to meet the walkers and it’s helpful to have a conversation about how their walk has gone – enquiring about any path finding issues or feedback on accommodation. We may also ask you to run errands either for our walkers or for us: checking a diversion, delivering items to our walkers, inspecting a hotel, putting up a sticker at one of our stamping stations etc.

We pay mileage based on the AA rate starting from and finishing at home. We also pay a labour rate per hour. Congestion charges, parking fees etc are reimbursed.
